Just a fun piece I had to complete - 8" x 10" newspaper, magazine, white acrylic, black sharpie, prismatic paper accent, black ballpoint pen.
I think what drove me to complete this were pent-up feelings of anger, aggression and frustration about my day job and how I wish I could do art all the time.
I love this. In fact, so much so that I'll be getting a tattoo based off it this weekend. I've been planning a gun tattoo for about a year now (symbolic of something to me--not because I am a gun enthusiast...) and have been looking at so much art in search of something that felt right to me. I've come across many truly amazing pieces that I've made note of and kept in consideration while working on coming up with a design for a tattoo that expressed what I wanted it to. Anyways, when I found this last week I knew it was perfect for me. I took it to my artist along with a few other images I'd found and liked, because I wasn't too optimistic that he would be able to create a tattoo for me that reflected many of the elements of your work that I think make it so awesome. I almost didn't bother showing it to him but am SO glad I did! He loves it as well and feels he'll be able to design a version of this collage that will translate well onto skin. Changes will be made, of course, but I hope you don't object to my using your art as inspiration for my tattoo.
I've thought long and hard about what I wanted this tattoo to be and am not the type to act at all impulsively when it comes to decisions like this... so I wanted to share with you just how much I admire what you've created in this, and ask for your blessing so to speak to use your art for this purpose.
This tattoo means so much to me, so I don't know how to express how grateful I am to you for sharing this with others.h I feel like I may come off as a bit of a psycho to be telling you this! I assure you I'm very normal and not a crazy person. I simply love what you've created and am so excited to have found exactly what I've been searching for!
If you're OK with my using this image as the framework for a tattoo I'll be thrilled, as I don't know if I could feel right using it otherwise. I'd also be glad to share a picture with you of the finished tattoo if you have any interest in seeing it.
I haven't been on here in a while sorry I hadn't answered u before now - hopefully u went ahead with the tattoo as I approved the use of my artwork in the creation of your tattoo.
I did... It's been completed for quite awhile now. I'll probably continue to have minor changes made to the color from time to time as the original tattoo artist didn't achieve quite the results I'd hoped for. But I've already had it retouched a number of times, so I'm happy with it as is for the time being.. It's my favorite of all of my tattoos, and anyone who sees it compliments it. I really love it. Thanks again

thank you - not sure what it is about this piece but many people have commented on it and added it to their faves. I like the skull trigger too - kinda speaks to the mayhem that could follow if you pull the trigger under the differing circumstances....was it self-protection? Was it murder? Was it suicide LOL.
